Dear All,
Introduction
I am pleased to inform you that I have received the attached detailed information about the Quadrangular Tournament in Deventer, Holland in the period Sunday 26 July 2026 – Friday 31 July 2026.
This mail is sent to all players who were involved in the communication leading up to the Quadrangular Tournament in Woodbridge in 2025 and it will also be posted on DANSK XL’s website.
As in the past Dansk XL will be represented by a team in the 45-over tournament and a team in the 20-over tournament, where the priority will be that the best (often also the youngest
) players participate in the 45-over tournament and the other players participate in the 20-over tournament. It is expected that depending on the number of participants and injuries there will be overlaps between the teams.
General information
In summary the following main information applies:
- The Tournament takes place from Monday 27 – Friday 31 July 2026.
- Venue: Salland Cricketclub: David Wijnveldtweg 4, 7425 AC DEVENTER.
- The accommodation is: Van der Valk Hotel, Birnieweg 4, 7418 HH Deventer
Participation
I now ask all of you who wish to participate to send a mail to me no later than by Monday 16 March 2026 confirming that you wish to participate and more specifically in which of the following activities you wish to participate:
(i) in the QT itself.
(ii) in the bad boys’ game on Sunday 26 July 2025. I am not involved in the planning of this event, but I would just like to know who takes part in the event. Any cost related to the bad boys’ game is in addition to the cost mentioned below.
Economy
According to the attached detailed information this involves the following costs:
- Travel: Your own travel cost which you must arrange individually.
- Hotel: The price for a a Comfort Room for 2 people is 135 euro. There is no information about the price for single rooms. All booking instructions are in the attached document. You must book individually.
- Membership payment to DANSK XL: DKK 500 (see below).
- Tournament fee: 200 euro for every player and 160 euro for non-players. This must be paid regardless of how many days you participate. This fee includes:
(i) Opening reception of the QT
(ii) Coffee or tea at the Salland clubhouse,
(iii) Lunch every day between innings,
(iv) BBQ on Wednesday evening,
(v) The closing dinner on Thursday evening at the van der Valk Hotel.
Way ahead – final selection
By 16 March 2026 we will have the full overview of the number of participants, and we will also know if we are overbooked, which has however not been the case for the past many years. Shortly after 16 March 2026 I will communicate the list of participants by Monday 23 March 2026.
So, if you want to be absolutely sure that we are not overbooked (which I do not expect) you should wait to book hotel and make travel arrangements until your participation is confirmed (no later than by Monday 23 March 2026). This will leave you a full week to book the hotel which must be done no later than Tuesday 31 March 2026.
In any event you must make your own reservation at the hotel and make your own travel arrangements.
Membership of DANSK XL
I remind you all to pay the membership fee for 2026 which was fixed at the general meeting in Herning in September 2025 at DKK 500.
As you know, it is a condition for playing on any of DANSK XL’s teams that you have paid your membership fee, and in my book, you ‘always get a lot for your money’ on that point.
I would therefore ask you all to pay DKK 500 to Dansk XL’s bank account no later than 31 March 2026, which is as follows:

Changes
As always please observe that changes might occur although this is not currently expected.
Conclusion
I very much look forward to receiving the confirmations on your participation and even more to a hopefully wonderful cricket week in Holland., where we can hopefully defend our trophy in the 20-over tournament and maybe even win the 45-over tournament, as we nearly did last year.

Quadrangular Tournament 2026 at the fields of Salland/Ud in Deventer.

Dear friends,
We are looking forward to the Quadrangular Tournament in Deventer, homeground of Salland Cricket.
The address at the ground of Salland Cricketclub: David Wijnveldtweg 4, 7425 AC DEVENTER.
The format of the tournament is as follows:
- Sunday July 26: Bad Boys – SGS Presidentsteam. After the game the opening ceremony will be organized at Salland
- Monday July 27: Tournament Day will start at 11.00 am and all games will be 45 overs
- Tuesday July 28: Tournament Day
- Wednesday July 29: T20 Day. In the morning start at 10.00 am
- Thursday 30 July: Tournament Day and in the evening, starting at 8 pm dinner at the Van der Valk Hotel
- Friday July 31: T20 in the morning last matches.
We have a provisional booking for 36 twinrooms at the Van der Valk Hotel,Birnieweg 4, 7418 HH Deventer

For our Spanish friends and d) QT/NL for the Dutch. Please inform the hotel of the landcode, personal details, telephone number and E-mailadress.
As always in the Netherlands: every person, who stays in the hotel, is responsible for paying the room when he/she leaves for home.
Further we made an arrangement of 200 euro for every player and 160 euro for non-players.
